If you’ve never been to the Driftless Region of Wisconsin, you are missing out my friend! I suggest you put this on your list of potential road trips.
To make a looooong story short (glaciers have been around for thousands of years!) the Driftless Region is an area in southwestern Wisconsin, southeastern Minnesota, northeastern Iowa, and the extreme northwestern corner of Illinois.
This region missed out on being scraped by a huge glacier so it has maintained it’s beautiful hilly terrain and river/stream system.
Why visit this area?
- The roads are curvy, skinny, and fun to drive on!
- The scenery and wildlife are worth the trip.
This area is known for it’s steep, forested ridges, deeply carved river valleys, and trout fed streams and rivers.
Here are some towns to put on your list:
Richland Center
Hillsboro
Veroqua
